You are still insured with KOBA if your KOBA Rider is not correctly plugged in, however our cover relies on you to have your Rider plugged in, and is part of your agreement with us when you buy a policy.
There are a few contingencies in place:
1. When you first buy a policy with us, you have 14 days from your policy period start date to plug in your Rider before we charge the maximum daily rate of 250km and 21 days before we can cancel your policy.
2. If you've activated your vehicle data with us, any time that your Rider is unplugged or tampered with, we'll charge you the maximum daily km amount (250 km/day) each day as the default. This is because we're not able to track your exact mileage
3. If your Rider is unplugged or tampered with, for 7 days or more during your policy period, KOBA may cancel your policy in its entirety.
4. If we accept a claim for an incident where the Rider was unplugged at the time, an additional Disconnected Vehicle Data excess applies and this will be shown on your Insurance certificate.
As we're Pay as You Drive, the Rider is crucial to ensuring that you pay what's right for you.
