OBD stands for On Board Diagnostics. It’s the standardised system that allows external electronics to interface with a car’s computer system.
The OBD-II port is a small 12-point plug, often often located under or near the steering wheel.
The KOBA Rider we send you can plug easily into this port, and allows KOBA to report data from your car's onboard computer and share it with our App. This data is secure and belongs to you; it's how we calculate the number of kilometres you travel every day.
Depending on your car's make, this port might be open and exposed, or in some cars, it's behind a simple-to-remove panel. This port exists in all cars manufactured and sold in Australia from 2006 onwards.
